Dinosaur slides are the easiest dino gear to actually wear. You kick them on to grab the mail, wear them to the gym locker room, pack them for a pool day and leave them by the door all winter as house shoes. Nobody needs a reason to wear a fun pair of slides, which is exactly why they make such a good pick for the dinosaur fan who already owns the shirts. This guide covers the slide styles we make for men and women, how they compare to dinosaur flip flops, how to get the size right and which pair suits which person.
Both are open, easy and quick to put on, but they feel different on your feet.
Here's a simple way to decide. If the shoes will mostly live at home, at the gym or in a gym bag, get slides. If they're going in a suitcase for a beach trip, flip flops win. Plenty of people end up with one of each.
Every pair is made to order, with the dinosaur print running edge to edge across the strap. Here's what you get:
The sole color is worth a second of thought. White looks bright and summery and makes the print pop. Black hides scuffs and dirt better, so it's the practical pick for slides that will see a lot of floors and parking lots. Either way, care is simple: spot clean the strap and sole with a damp cloth.
Our women's slides come in three prints, and each one has a very different personality.
The Bright Dinos slides were our first pair, and they're still the boldest. A coral T. rex, a teal brontosaurus, a purple triceratops, a lime raptor and more march across a black strap with dino eggs, ferns, footprints and tiny volcanoes. The print runs in both directions, so the dinosaurs look right side up whether you're looking down at your feet or someone else is looking at you.
If you like softer colors, the Blush Bloom Dinos slides have pastel dinosaurs and little daisies on a blush pink strap. They're sweet without being babyish, and they look great with white soles.
For something richer, the Emerald Jewel Dinos slides put jewel-tone dinosaurs and small gold moons on a deep emerald strap. This is the pair to pick for someone who wears a lot of dark colors and wants their dino love to look a little more grown-up.
You'll find all three alongside our high tops and sneakers in the women's dinosaur shoes collection.
The men's slides come in two prints, one silly and one earthy.
The Dino Nuggies slides put our most-loved print on your feet: golden, crispy dino-shaped nuggets with long necks, spiky backs and stompy little legs, scattered across a light mint strap. The nuggets are big enough to read from across the room, which is kind of the point. If the guy you're shopping for already owns something from our dino nuggie collection, this is an easy win.
The Fossil Botanica slides are the quieter option. Earthy dinosaurs mix with ferns, ginkgo leaves and ammonite fossils on a cream strap, a bit like a page out of an old field guide. They're a good fit for the fossil hunter, the hiker or anyone who'd rather not wear neon.
Browse them with the rest of our men's styles in the men's dinosaur shoes collection.
Slides are sized differently for men and women, so check which chart you're using before you order.
Some sizes skip a half step. For example, the women's chart goes from US 7 to US 8 to US 8.5. That's normal for this style, so just go by the foot length measurement and you'll land in the right place.
Buying for someone else and not sure of their size? Sneak a look at the label inside a pair of their sneakers, or ask a partner or roommate. Shoe sizes are one of the few gift details that are easy to find out quietly.
If you're leaning toward a toe post, our dinosaur flip flops have a rubber sole lined with soft printed fabric and black Y-shaped rubber straps. They're unisex and come in three sizes. Small fits about women's US 6 to 7.5 and men's US 6 to 7. Medium fits women's 8 to 10 and men's 7.5 to 9.5. Large fits women's 10.5 to 11 and men's 10 to 11.5.
The prints are bigger scenes instead of repeating patterns. The Serene Stegosaurus flip flops show a stegosaurus wandering through a tropical palm landscape, and the Minimalist Dino flip flops have a single small long-neck dinosaur standing on soft desert dunes.
For a bolder look, the Glowing Dubreuillosaurus flip flops are covered in a neon blue and green prehistoric scene with glowing mushrooms. And the Dino Dad flip flops are a fun pick for a dad who's always the first one into the pool.
Absolutely. Slides have quietly become year-round house shoes. They're easy to step into in the morning, they don't trap heat the way slippers can, and they're quick to wipe off if you step outside for a minute. Pair them with a fun pair of socks and they're cozy enough for a winter morning. Our dinosaur socks are made for exactly this, and the dinosaur socks gift guide can help you pick a pair that goes with the slides.
That also makes slides a smart gift this time of year. They're practical, they get worn every day, and they're a lot more personal than a gift card. Add a pair of socks and you've got a complete little gift set.
Want to see every closed-toe option too? Our full dinosaur shoes collection has high tops, sneakers and slip-ons, and the dinosaur shoes buying guide explains how they fit. If slides are going in a gift pile, our guides to dinosaur gifts for adults and dinosaur stocking stuffers have plenty more ideas.
