  • Dinosaur Shoes Buying Guide: High Tops, Sneakers, Slip-Ons and How to Size Them

    September 23, 2026 6 min read

You've found the dinosaur shoes. Now comes the part the product photos don't answer: which kind of shoe, what size, and whether it will actually arrive before the birthday or the holidays. Every pair in our range is printed to order, so those three questions matter more than they would for a box off a warehouse shelf.

This guide covers all of it — the four shoe styles we make, how our men's, women's and kids' sizes line up with each other, what each costs, and the date you need to order by. Every spec below is read off the live product listings.

The four kinds of dinosaur shoes we make

Our full dinosaur shoes collection looks like one big wall of prints. Underneath it are four quite different shoes.

Style What it is Price Sizes Best for
High tops Canvas, printed on both sides, lace-up, metal eyelets $74.99–$79.99 Women's US 5.5–12; Men's US 5–12 on most designs Adults who want the loudest print
Low tops Same canvas and print as the high tops, cut below the ankle $79.99 Women's US 5.5–12; Men's US 5–12 on most designs Everyday wear, warmer months
Mesh sneakers Breathable mesh upper, lace-up, EVA sole $64.99–$79.99 Varies by design, across Kids 11C–3Y, Women's US 5–12, Men's US 5–14 Kids, active days, matching pairs
Slip-ons Canvas loafer with an elastic in-step $49.99–$79.99 Kids 11C–3Y Kids who can't tie laces yet

We also make dinosaur flip-flops ($24.99, S/M/L) — more on those below, because they ship on a different, much faster timeline.

    High tops: the statement shoe

There are 28 designs in the dinosaur high tops collection, and they're the pair most people picture when they think of us. The canvas is printed on both sides, so the pattern wraps the whole shoe rather than sitting on a panel. Many designs let you choose white or black trim, which changes the look more than you'd expect — black reads darker and more grown-up, white lets the print carry the shoe.

One thing to check before you fall for a design: about a third of the high tops are offered in women's sizes only. Shadow T-Rex, Raptor Watching, Space Dinos and Angry Rex, for example, come in both men's and women's sizes; Pink Plaid Dinos and Fun Dinos are women's only. The size menu on each listing tells you which.

Pick high tops if the shoe is the outfit. They're the most visible thing we make, and at $79.99 they're the pair people buy as the big gift.

Low tops: same print, easier to wear

The low tops share the high tops' canvas, double-sided print, lace-up closure and metal eyelets, with an EVA outsole. They're the better choice for someone who wants the design without the ankle — easier over trousers, easier in summer, and less of a commitment for someone trying dinosaur shoes for the first time.

Mesh sneakers: the one the whole family can match

The mesh sneakers are a different shoe altogether: a lightweight, breathable mesh upper with a lace-up closure and an EVA sole. This is where you'll find most of the kids' dinosaur shoes.

Here's the useful detail that isn't obvious from the titles: several sneaker designs run from child 11 all the way to men's US 14 in a single listing. Space Dinosaurs, Cool T-Rex, Colorful Dino Skeletons, Mixed Up Dino's and Jurassic Stencil all do. If you want a parent and child in the same print, the mesh sneakers are where to look.

The flip side: a product's title doesn't always tell you its size range. Some sneakers are kids' sizes only, some are kids' and women's, and a couple with "kids" in the name are currently listed in adult sizes only. Always open the size menu before you decide.

Slip-ons: for small feet and no laces

The three kids' slip-ons have an elastic stretch in-step, a soft textile lining and a canvas upper on an EVA outsole. They go on and off without laces, which is the whole point for a child who isn't tying their own yet. Color Your Own Dinosaur Shoe is the odd one out at $79.99: we print the dinosaur pattern and your child adds the colour. Colouring materials aren't included — the listing recommends Sharpies or fabric dye, with a grown-up supervising.

Dinosaur shoe sizing: how the three size runs line up

Every size on our shoe listings carries its EU number, and that's the key to getting the fit right. Men's and women's labels are just two names for the same underlying sizes:

    EU Women's Men's
    38 US 7 US 5
    39 US 8 US 6
    40 US 9 US 7
    41 US 10 US 7.5
    42 US 11 US 8.5
    43 US 11.5 US 9.5
    44 US 12 US 10

    Three practical consequences:

    1. A women's US 8 and a men's US 6 are the same shoe (EU 39). Buying for someone who normally wears the other gender's sizing? Match the EU number, not the label.
    2. Men's sizes skip some half and whole sizes. The run goes 7, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10 — there is no men's US 8 or 9. If you wear a 9, check the size chart image on the listing and compare your foot length rather than guessing up or down.
    3. The kids' run is child 11 to youth 3 (EU 28–34). There are no toddler sizes. If you're shopping for a very small child, this range won't fit yet.

The high-top, low-top and sneaker listings carry the store's Perfect Fit Guarantee: if your pair arrives too big or too small, let us know and we'll replace it free, up to a two-size difference. That takes most of the risk out of ordering a size you've never tried.

When to order dinosaur shoes for Christmas (and Halloween)

This is the part people get wrong. Our shoes are made to order, and each listing gives two phases — production, then shipping:

    Production Shipping Total
Standard 3–7 business days 10–15 business days 13–22 business days
Express 3–7 business days 4–7 business days 7–14 business days

Tracking numbers are sent once your order moves into the shipping phase, so a few quiet days after ordering is normal.

Working back from the slow end of those estimates, and skipping Thanksgiving:

    • For Christmas, order standard shipping by about November 20, or express by about December 3.
    • For Halloween, order standard shipping by about September 30 — which is soon. The limited-edition T-Rex or Treat high tops are the obvious pick for that one.

Those dates are arithmetic on the store's own estimates, not a guarantee from the carrier. Earlier is better.

The exception: flip-flops. Our four dinosaur flip-flop designs have a much shorter timeline — 2–3 business days of production and 3–6 of shipping — and ship within the US only. They have a rubber sole with a soft polyester fabric lining and come in S, M and L.

Which dinosaur shoes should you buy?

    • A gift for an adult who loves dinosaurs: high tops. Browse by women's dinosaur shoes or men's dinosaur shoes, then match the EU size.
    • A child in kids' sizes (child 11 to youth 3): mesh sneakers, or slip-ons if laces are still a battle.
    • A parent-and-kid matching set: a mesh sneaker design that runs from kids' through adult sizes, like Space Dinosaurs or Cool T-Rex.
    • Something small or last-minute: flip-flops, or a pair from our dinosaur socks to go with shoes you've already ordered.

If you're building a whole outfit, our dinosaur hoodie buying guide covers the other half of it — and if the plan is a family Halloween look, start with family dinosaur costume ideas.

    Dinosaur shoes FAQ

Are the men's and women's shoes different shoes? Where a design comes in both, it's the same print offered in two size labels, and each size shows its EU equivalent. Match the EU number rather than the label.

Do you make toddler dinosaur shoes? Not currently. The smallest size is child 11 (EU 28).

What if the size is wrong? High tops, low tops and sneakers carry the Perfect Fit Guarantee: we'll replace a pair that's too big or too small free, up to a two-size difference.

Why does shipping take longer than a big-box store? Every pair is printed after you order rather than pulled from stock. It avoids producing shoes nobody buys, but it means you should plan around the production window above.

Are these waterproof? Nothing on the listings says so, and we won't claim it. The high tops and low tops are canvas and the sneakers are mesh — treat them like any canvas or mesh sneaker in the rain.
