  • Dinosaur Wrapping Paper: 6 Christmas Prints, What One Sheet Covers, and When to Order

    September 27, 2026 5 min read

If there's a dinosaur kid on your list this year, the present is probably already dinosaur-shaped. The paper can be too. We make six dinosaur wrapping paper designs, all of them Christmas prints: gingerbread cookies, snow globes, T. rexes in Santa hats, and one pink print with palm trees for anyone who spends Christmas somewhere warm.

This page covers all six, what you get in a pack, which boxes one sheet will actually cover, and when to order so the paper turns up before wrapping night rather than after it.

    What's in a pack

Every design is sold the same way, and the details below are taken from the listings:

    • 3 flat sheets per pack, each 28.75″ × 19.75″ (73 × 50.2 cm)
    • 70# uncoated text paper with a matte finish
    • Printed on one side, white on the back
    • $24.99 per pack of three, the same for every design
    • Custom printed when you order, which is why it isn't a next-day delivery

Two things are worth knowing before you buy. These are sheets, not a roll, so you get three pieces at a fixed size rather than a length you cut from. And 70# text is a paper weight, not cardstock, so treat it like good wrapping paper rather than a gift box. The white back is handy for writing a name straight onto the inside flap.

Six dinosaur Christmas wrapping paper designs

    The cookie prints

    • Gingerbread Dinosaurs: iced gingerbread stegosauruses, brachiosauruses and T. rexes, with little cookie trees, stars and stockings, on deep navy. It's the darkest of the six and looks the most like traditional Christmas paper from a distance.
    • Gingerbread Skeleton: gingerbread dinosaurs iced as skeletons, with the bones piped on in white. Some wear Santa hats, and a triceratops has a holly garland. The background is white with small cookie stars. It's the one for the fossil-obsessed kid.

    The cozy prints

    • Dino Holiday Cheer: storybook dinosaurs in knitted sweaters and Santa hats, with candy canes, lollipops, stars and small trees, on white. Blue, green and orange-brown, so it isn't the usual red and green.
    • Snow Globe Dinosaur: dark green dinosaurs in Santa hats between Christmas trees, with a tiny dinosaur inside each snow globe, on warm cream with snowflakes. The quietest of the six. It suits a tree that's decorated in green and gold.
    • Jolly Dinosaurs: sage-green T. rexes, triceratopses and long-necks in red scarves and Santa hats, some tangled in Christmas lights, on a pale peach background.

The one that isn't red and green

    • Pink Christmas: soft green dinosaurs in Santa hats and reindeer antlers, with palm trees strung with lights, candy canes and small presents, all on pastel pink. It's the easy pick for a child whose favorite color is pink, and for anyone whose Christmas involves a beach.

All six are in the dinosaur Christmas wrapping paper collection, side by side.

Will one sheet cover the box?

This is the question the listings don't answer, so here is our rough math. To wrap a box in the usual way, the paper has to go all the way around it with a little overlap, and reach past each end far enough to fold down. For a box that is L long, W wide and H tall, that means a piece about:

    • 2 × (W + H) + 2″ in one direction, and
    • L + H + 1″ in the other.

A single sheet is 28.75″ × 19.75″. Here is how some common gift boxes come out:

    Box (L × W × H) Paper needed One sheet?
    Book or jigsaw box, 10 × 8 × 2″ 22″ × 13″ Yes, with room to spare
    Shirt box, 15 × 9.5 × 2″ 25″ × 18″ Yes
    Kids' shoebox, 13 × 8 × 5″ 28″ × 19″ Yes, just (about ¾″ to spare)
    Board game, 11 × 11 × 3″ 30″ × 15″ No, needs two sheets joined
    Large toy box, 16 × 12 × 6″ 38″ × 23″ No, needs two sheets joined

These are estimates for a neat wrap with ordinary folds. Measure your box before you start. The short version: a pack of three sheets does about three book-, shirt- or shoebox-sized presents, or one big toy box with a sheet left over for something small. If you're wrapping everything under the tree in dinosaur paper, you'll want a few packs, and mixing two or three designs looks deliberate rather than like you ran out.

When a box is too big for one sheet, lay two sheets side by side and join them with tape on the white side before you start. On a busy all-over print like these, the seam is hard to spot.

When to order dinosaur wrapping paper

The paper ships much faster than our stockings, but it still isn't a same-day buy. The listings quote two estimates for US standard shipping:

    Stage Estimate
    Production 2–3 business days
    Shipping 3–6 business days
Door to door 5–9 business days

Counting back from the slowest estimate and skipping weekends and Thanksgiving:

If you want to… Order by (slowest estimate)
Have it in the house before Thanksgiving (Nov 25 arrival) November 12
Wrap on the first weekend of December (Dec 4 arrival) November 20
Wrap on the last weekend before Christmas (Dec 18 arrival) December 7
Have it by Christmas Eve at the very latest (Dec 23 arrival) December 10

At the fast end of the estimate you'd get about a week back, but wrapping night is a bad time to find out which end you got. Tracking is sent once the order moves into the shipping stage.

If you're also ordering dinosaur Christmas stockings, those take much longer (up to 35 business days), so their order-by date comes first. Don't wait for the stocking deadline to order the paper, or the other way round. Just order each one by its own date.

Wrapping ideas that make the paper go further

    • Match the tree. If you've bought any of our dinosaur Christmas ornaments, pick the paper in the same colors. The navy Gingerbread Dinosaurs sits well next to a traditional tree, and Snow Globe Dinosaur next to a green-and-gold one. Our ornaments guide goes through the designs.
    • One print per person. With six designs, each child can have their own paper, the same trick as giving everyone a different stocking. Nobody needs a tag to know which presents are theirs.
    • Save the offcuts. A strip left over from a shirt box is enough to wrap a small stocking filler or cover a gift card envelope.
    • Plain ribbon. The prints are busy. A single color of ribbon, picked from the paper, looks neater than a patterned bow.

    Questions people ask

    How big is a sheet? 28.75″ × 19.75″ (73 × 50.2 cm). Each pack has three sheets.

Is it a roll? No. It comes as flat sheets.

Is there dinosaur wrapping paper for birthdays? Not at the moment. All six of our designs are Christmas prints. Snow Globe Dinosaur and Jolly Dinosaurs are the most wintry rather than Christmassy, but they're still covered in Santa hats.

Is it printed on both sides? No. The print is on one side and the back is white.

Can I order it outside the US? The listings say it's available in the US, Canada, Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The delivery times above are for US standard shipping, so check the options at checkout if you're elsewhere.

Will it arrive by Christmas? Order by December 10 and the slowest US estimate still has it with you by December 23. Order a week or two earlier if you'd like to wrap the weekend before.
